30-Day Ab Challenge: Daily Plan, Rules and Printable Schedule
Take the 30-day ab challenge: a progressive daily plan with planks, crunches, leg raises and twists, rest days built in, and versions for beginners and pros.

The classic 30-day ab challenge adds a few more crunches every day until you're doing hundreds. It's simple, but it overworks one movement and ignores the rest of your core. This version keeps the fun of a daily challenge but builds a balanced, stronger midsection.
The rules
- One short session per day, 5–15 minutes.
- Rest on days 7, 14, 21 and 28. Walk or stretch instead.
- Form first. If your lower back lifts or your neck strains, stop the set.
- Missed a day? Continue tomorrow. Never double up.
- Measure your waist on day 1 and day 30.
The four challenge moves
- Plank (stability), see how to do a plank
- Crunch (upper abs), see how to do a crunch
- Leg raise (lower abs), see leg raises
- Russian twist (obliques), see Russian twist

Do the four moves as a circuit, rest 30–60 seconds, and repeat once (twice from day 15 if you feel good). Twists count each side.
Beginner and advanced versions
- Beginner: use knee planks, bent-knee leg raises and feet-down twists, and do one round only.
- Advanced: hold a weight for crunches and twists, use straight-leg raises with a 3-second lowering, and do three rounds.
Make it more than a challenge
A fixed challenge is a great start, but your body adapts. A personalized plan that rotates exercises and adjusts to your level works better over time. That's what the AbBlitz 30-day ab workout plan does, with 169 exercises and timers that guide every set.
What to expect on day 30
Your plank time should have roughly tripled, and the circuit should feel easy. Whether you see your abs depends on body fat. See how to get abs in 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
Does the 30-day ab challenge work?
It builds strength and the habit. It reveals abs only if combined with fat loss.
Can I do the challenge twice a day?
No need. One quality session plus rest gives better results than extra volume.
What if I can't hit the numbers?
Do what you can with good form and repeat the day. The numbers are guides, not rules.
Can I combine it with running or the gym?
Yes. Do it after your workout or at a different time of day.
